Taya De La Cruz - Handwritten Art
Tel: 07841 508 964
For almost a decade, the idea for Handwritten Art existed unknowingly as a collection of ideas in Taya De La Cruz's notebook. Over the last couple of years, the style took on a more pronounced form and started carving out a visual niche for itself.
Being an only child, Taya spent most of her childhood surrounded by books, and developed a potent fascination for the written word. This translated into her reading every book in her school library and winning every handwriting competition she entered throughout her education.
It turned a tool into a journey, and a journey into an unintended form of visual art. She wanted to create pieces people can get up close and personal with, and experience them in a way which is different to more traditional forms of art. Art for inquisitive eyes.
She also hides secret messages in all of her works. But you’ll never find them.
Taya is a brand new, emerging artist. She is a half-Spanish, half-Indian Londoner who was raised in sleepy southern Spain and educated in Gibraltar.
