Follow me on social media to be always updated about my new works and exhibitions:
I am from a small town in northern Italy: Salsomaggiore Terme.
My primary school teacher preferred to teach applied art instead of literature or history. This was probably my first Art influence.
When I was 9 I started playing basketball and fell in love of the sport.
I studied Art in high school and when I was 20 I joined the Fine Art Academy in Bologna. It was Spring 2004 when I started to drop some dots on a photocopied image and I never stopped since: “dotting” was born.
Straight after my BA in Fine Art I won a couple of awards and my work was exhibited at Bologna Art Fair 2007, a key moment in my life.
I started working with galleries in Italy and Tokyo.
I then decided to quit basketball after playing as a professional for many years and focus completely on my Art.
In 2009 I moved to London where I live and work.
Strong family values, love, sharing, support, positive attitude on one side, plus competition and discipline learned on the basketball court are imprinted in my personality and my work.
I have exhibited my work in Italy, UK, France, Germany, Japan and Hong Kong.
About my work
Throughout my life I have always needed to express myself in a creative way mainly through Art and sports: freedom to create, energy and discipline to reach goals and dreams.
I used to play with puzzles and colouring books a great deal. I believe "dotting" is an evolution of my favourite childhood games, as a different way to colour an image using drops of colour, becoming dots to compose the picture, like pieces of a puzzle.
"Dotting" is a meditative process: the drops falling, colour on colour, shade on shade, to create a three-dimensional texture of dots which engages the viewer them from a visual perception to a tactile one.
I love combining "my dots" with different media stretching the boundaries to see how far my Art can go.
