About me: If asked how long I take to make a piece, I answer "43 years - and then some!"
Having learned to throw and hand-build pots in my native Johannesburg, I found I much preferred the fascination of the varied 'hands-on' techniques. It's magical when a lump of mud becomes a bowl in my hands…!
Stoneware and porcelain best suit the domestic ware I most love to produce. Cooking in my handcrafted roasters, serving on my platters and enjoying the food from my plates pleases me daily.
About my work: Each piece is a challenge and I hope it survives the demands of crafting and firing. I make occasional decorative panels but most enjoy creating no-two-alike garden pieces - water features and planters or tableware and cookware or light shades... you name it I'll try and find a way to make it!
Classes, workshops and parties are all on offer in my garden-facing studio. Please call or email me for info.
