‘Cornish Coast’ was inspired Laura’s visit to the South of Cornwall over the summer. After an unusually long cold winter of short days and freezing nights, the English countryside is erupting in a frenzy of activity. ‘Glacier Blue’ is from my series of paintings inspired by my visit to Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier, on the south coast of Iceland. At the base of the glacier is Jökulsárlón Ice Lagoon where thousands of floating icebergs are continually melting off, filling the lagoon with huge chunks of textured and layered ice. The experience was sublime; beautiful and surreal yet equally disturbing, knowing it’s from the effects of global warming. This painting has translucent and opaque layers of harmonious blues, iridescent materials and texture. In a white float frame.

From Laura's 'Meltdown' series, this powerful statement piece was created in response to the state of the world and how the truth is distorted by fake news.
