About Cathy
I started life as a graphic artist in a West End studio after leaving art school, but very soon tired of the 9 to 5 routine. In fact I left Art behind except for a brief interlude of 4 years painting buildings of all descriptions (mostly using ink and wash) on a commission basis and have only recently returned to Art in a more dedicated way.
Watercolors have been a tremendous challenge as my preferred medium was usually oils and pastels.

My Work
I am a whimsical artist who literally paints whatever takes my fancy - no set journey, it could be landscapes. seascapes, people, portraits or buildings. I am happy to discuss commissions.
And I have a renewed interest in life-studies thanks to all the online zoom sessions during Lockdown and Self Isolation.
One thing that is consistent is my need for a certain amount of accuracy, having been trained back in the days of draughtsmanship
Exhibitions
- My main interest in being an EFO member is the annul Open House event which of courses couldn't take place this year. Hopefully this will be organized in 2021 at the beginning of July.
- I am taking part in the Tattlers Artist's Walk with pictures in my window until the 14th December - there is an N2 trail with a few other houses close to me.
- No other exhibitions this year sadly - all that were planned have been cancelled.
- The Highgate Watercolour Group is planning a reduced exhibition at Lauderdale House in March / April 2021 and the full exhibition will go ahead mid October to mid November
