Andrea R. Lagartos Designer_Maker
I am a multidisciplinary designer with passion for art and creative identity.
Since 2014 I have worked on ANALOGIE based in East Finchley.
ANALOGIE is about creating objects, transforming recycled materials to give them a new life, purpose or use. I work with objects, furniture and textile to develop new concepts and products.
My projects include conceptualization and creation of bespoke fashion accessories, jewellery and design (interior design, graphic design and furniture making)
My approach is influenced by the sensuousness of materials and the poetic aspect of spaces. I create spaces and objects through the transformation of what was originally seen as standard. Assessing the traditional or conventional and reinterpreting its use, delivering a new and unexpected functionality, forming a new concept.
The very essence of an object is what makes its identity, which – through recycling and conceptual processes – acquires a different use with a new concept.
My first jewellery collection was [...] o [...] a composed of pieces made of latex, taking materials (such a natural tree leaves, marbles, industrial tools…) out of context. […] o […] a each piece is used allegorically to represent feelings and concepts subtly interlaced within the metamorphosis of a dense urban fabric.
I am currently presenting NOSHI Collection: 18 pieces women accessory collars made of Japanese antique silk kimonos and vintage brooches. Noshi is a particular type of tsutsumi (Japanese word for wrappers). This collection of wearable sculptures juxtaposes jewellery and textile, as an analogy to its traditional meaning.
