Kate Pasvol - Sculpture/Glass
About me:I initially trained and practiced as an architect for 20 years mainly in Oxford. I then moved to London in 1990 and went into teaching, mainly teaching computer graphics. Throughout this time I persued my interest in sculpture and drawing.
About my work: My carved sculptural work is mainly inspired by landscape and is usually connected to a particular place I have visited. I have also produced a range of figurative work mainly in fired stoneware. In recent years I have been working in glass creating three dimensional forms inspired by water and the generation of early life forms and DNA structures.
My more recent work in glass has been linked to landscape and in particular the welsh mountains and waterways as well as silver birch trees together with the female torso and I have using a variety of techniques including fusing, kiln casting and sand casting to produce my work.
Exhibitions: My work has recently been selected for the British Glass Biennale 2017
I am also exhibiting in GLASSHAUS 11 and 12 at Parndom Mill Harlow
Erwood station Gallery Wales
Celia Cloleman Gallery St Johns Wood
and various exhibitions associated with EFO and University of Hertfordshire
