About me: I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1972, which initiated my keen interest in a variety of arts and crafts. I began seriously learning pottery and ceramics at various adult education centres in Manchester and Leeds and gained a Diploma in Ceramics at Newcastle Arts Centre in 1990. I have a ceramics studio at my home in North London and since retiring in 2010 am able to concentrate more on my art work.
About my work: My work is thrown or hand built ceramics, which are individually painted with intricate patterns using underglazes . My designs are very much influenced by images taken from nature and my surroundings, textiles, architecture and patterns. I am particularly interested in how colours, patterns and form can make sense of random chaotic images.
Exhibitions: Islington Arts Society Spring Exhibition April 2012
October 2012 The Creek Gallery in Faversham. as part of the Kent Arts Festival.
