About me: I’ve lived in East Finchley for many years, and have often visited the EFO open houses, so I’m now delighted to be part of the group. I took up pottery later in life, when I was able to make the time to do something that I’ve always been drawn to. My interest has grown to the point where I’ve now set up my own studio in East Finchley.
About my work: I mostly throw functional forms in stoneware, though sometimes also in earthenware or porcelain. I am very drawn to plain natural glazes that enhance the stone-like quality of a pot, but contrastingly I also enjoy experimenting with decoration: pressed leaf images, underglaze painting or slip decoration. What I aim to achieve is a pleasing form that suits its function.
