The East Finchley Open are hosting a local community photographic competition for the first time this year (closing date now extended to the end of July 2007).

Following on from the Archer's campaign asking people to write in saying "What's great about East Finchley?", we are asking people to send in a postcard sized photo evoking East Finchley on the theme:

"Imagine - East Finchley"

Photos can be taken on a camera or camera-phone and there will be prizes for the best. There will be winners in two age categories, and thanks to generous sponsorship from local businesses Gemini Photographic and Phone City Direct, prizes will include a digital camera and camera-phone!

Anyone will be able to enter for free, just by sending in a postcard-sized (7x5 or 5x7) printed photo, taken in the last 12 months on a camera or camera-phone.

An exhibition will be held of all suitable entries in the Phoenix cinema and the Arts Depot. All the original postcards will form the basis of a photo archive of modern East Finchley life.
