Karen Fraser

has been making films and videos since the 80s, and taking photos most of her life. She trained at the Polytechnic of East London under John Smith, and at West Surrey College of Art and Design, where she won a college-wide competition for her graduation film Peregrine, which went on to win a British Council Travel Award, was shown at the Bombay Film Festival, Fantasporto in Portugal and numerous UK film festivals. Karen has continued to make dramas and art videos which have been shown at the 291 Gallery, The Blue Room, through the EFO and abroad. Karen teaches video filmmaking in adult education.

In 2009 Karen made Bel Air a short film about love and fate, and about how the universe supports us even when we doubt it!? It is currently being sent out to film festivals to find its audience. Karen is also participating in the EFO Trans>Form show at the end of March, where she is showing a selection of photographs, covering over ten years of work.
