About me: Cherrell Avery is one of Britain's leading professional calligraphers who works from her studio in Muswell Hill. She is an elected Fellow of The Calligraphy & Lettering Art Society and The Society of Scribes & Illuminators. A qualified teacher, Cherrell runs adult education classes at The Institute, N2 and West Dean College. She is also a tutor on the calligraphy Foundation Degree course held at Kensington Palace. Cherrell is President and co founder of the North London Lettering Association.

About my work: Cherrell`s lettering art is regularly on exhibition, is featured in calligraphy books,and is in private collections in UK and abroad. Her letttering art explores the visual expression of text through letterform, colour, texture and gold to create unique, contemporary art works. Cherrell`s commission work ranges from commemorative pieces and poems to commercial design for print and calligraphy for the film industry. Major clients have included Marks & Spencer, Selfridges and The London Assembly
